AIIMS New Delhi publishes different telephone contacts for different purposes. Appointment booking and emergency help must not be mixed together. This page lists only contacts that have a current, sufficiently scoped official source.
OPD appointment booking by telephone
AIIMS labels the following numbers specifically for OPD appointment booking:
- 011-26589142
- 011-26589143
- 011-26589144
- 011-26589145
The listed working-day hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
These numbers are not described as general enquiry or emergency lines.
AIIMS also states that telephone appointments and ORS use the same appointment pool. Calling does not reveal a separate set of slots when the official portal shows no availability.
Emergency contacts
AIIMS lists these emergency numbers as available round the clock:
- 011-26594405
- 011-26594706
This website does not assess symptoms, provide triage or guarantee a response time. If you believe immediate emergency help is needed, contact the appropriate official emergency service directly.
General enquiry
AIIMS has published central enquiry numbers on a patient-information page, but the current source repository requires a second current institutional confirmation before they are republished here. They are therefore intentionally withheld from this draft.
This prevents an older or mixed-purpose contact from being presented as current without sufficient verification.
Department-specific contacts
A number published by one centre or department should be used only for the purpose stated by that source. It should not be promoted as a hospital-wide appointment, report or enquiry number.
Before calling a department-specific number:
- Confirm the department or centre name.
- Check what purpose the official page assigns to the number.
- Check whether the page displays an old update date.
- Do not share OTPs, passwords or unrelated medical records.
Choosing the correct contact
| Need | Correct starting point |
|---|---|
| Book an OPD appointment by telephone | The four appointment-booking numbers above during listed working-day hours |
| Check online appointment availability | Official ORS service; telephone uses the same pool |
| Medical emergency | The official emergency numbers above |
| Understand a UHID/follow-up route | Read the UHID guide before using the official follow-up service |
| Missing laboratory report | Identify the performing department and follow its report route |
| General campus question | Use a currently verified general-enquiry source once confirmed |
Before calling
- Know the exact purpose of the call.
- Confirm that AIIMS New Delhi is the relevant institution.
- Keep patient identifiers private until you are speaking through a verified official channel that requires them.
- Do not expect an appointment number to solve an emergency, report or general-enquiry problem.
- Note that published working hours may exclude non-working days.
Prepare one clear question
Calls are more useful when the caller can describe the situation in one sentence: “I am a first-time patient trying to book General Medicine and no date appears,” or “I have an AIIMS New Delhi UHID and need to understand the follow-up route on my clinic note.” This helps the operator identify whether the issue concerns booking, registration, a department or a technical problem.
Keep the hospital and department name, patient status, appointment date and exact error visible. Share sensitive identifiers only when an official channel clearly requires them. A genuine number does not make every request from a caller safe, and no legitimate troubleshooting step requires giving an OTP to a person who called unexpectedly.
What a helpline can and cannot do
A booking line may help with the official appointment process and may draw from the same slot pool as the online service. It cannot create unlimited capacity or guarantee a preferred doctor or date. A general enquiry line may direct the caller to a department, but it is not a substitute for clinical advice.
Department contacts are best for a narrow question already connected to that service, such as clinic location or a process stated on a departmental page. They are not a reliable way to bypass normal appointment or referral rules.
If the number does not connect
Try within published calling hours and confirm every digit against a current official AIIMS page. Busy or unanswered calls do not prove the number is wrong. Avoid calling many unrelated departments because one line is busy; this rarely fixes the original issue.
If the matter concerns an online screen, note the time, selected hospital, department and exact error. Do not include OTPs or full identity numbers in a public complaint. If the issue can wait, retry the official channel rather than trusting a search advertisement or an unofficial agent.
Fraud and impersonation warning
Search results, messaging apps and social-media posts can display copied hospital names and logos. Compare a number with an official AIIMS New Delhi source. Be cautious if anyone promises a guaranteed slot, asks for payment to a personal account, requests remote access to the phone or pressures the patient to reveal an OTP.
This website does not operate a booking desk, take payments or place calls on behalf of patients. It explains which category of official contact is appropriate.
Record the outcome
Write down the date of the call, the office or category contacted and the instruction received. Do not publish a staff member's personal details. If the instruction changes the visit plan, compare it with the appointment confirmation or official department page and carry the written details to the hospital.
Sources and review
Appointment contacts and hours were checked on 23 September 2026 against the AIIMS Call Centre Details page updated 17 July 2026. Emergency contacts were checked against the AIIMS Casualty and Emergency Services page. High-sensitivity telephone details require monthly review.
