This guide is for a patient who has already started—or completed—the AIIMS New Delhi appointment process and something did not work as expected. It separates a booking failure from a download problem, patient-record mismatch or unavailable slot.
It cannot check an individual appointment because this website has no access to ORS or AIIMS patient records.
Identify the exact problem first
| What happened | Likely category | First check |
|---|---|---|
| No date appears | Availability or route | Hospital, department and new/follow-up selection |
| OTP did not arrive | Verification | Mobile number, network and registered-number mismatch |
| Confirmation appeared but no PDF saved | Browser/download | New tab, Downloads folder and confirmation message |
| Existing patient not found | Record mismatch | UHID, institution and patient details |
| Wrong department selected | Booking-detail problem | Official correction/cancellation option for that appointment |
| Doctor name not shown | Department-based booking | Whether ORS is offering department or clinic slots |
| Appointment information disappeared | Retrieval/session issue | Confirmation SMS, appointment number and official login route |
Appointment confirmation versus appointment slip
A confirmation may be shown on screen or sent by SMS before the patient successfully saves a PDF. Preserve every available confirmation detail. Check whether the report or slip opened in another browser tab and review the device's Downloads folder.
If a file does not download, do not assume the appointment failed. Conversely, a screenshot of an incomplete page should not be treated as confirmed booking. Look for the official appointment number, hospital, department and date.
How to check appointment details
Use the official patient login or appointment-management route offered by ORS. Use the same verification method and patient details connected with the booking. This independent site does not provide a status form because asking for an appointment ID, mobile number or OTP would create a privacy and impersonation risk.
OTP problems
New patient
Recheck the mobile number entered and allow for normal SMS delay. Avoid repeatedly requesting codes in quick succession. Keep the phone able to receive messages and enter the code only on the verified official domain.
Existing patient
The mobile number currently used may differ from the number connected with the hospital record. Repeated OTP attempts do not correct a record mismatch. Follow the official help or hospital process for updating or verifying patient details.
Family member assisting
A trusted attendant can help with navigation when authorized by the patient, but the booking must contain the patient's details. OTPs should not be disclosed to agents, social-media accounts or this website.
Wrong patient or department information
Do not edit a screenshot or printout. Use only the correction, cancellation or fresh-booking choices provided by the official service. If a wrong department was chosen, do not attend it hoping to be redirected clinically; resolve the route before travel where possible.
Existing UHID not recognized
- Compare the UHID character by character with the earlier OPD document.
- Confirm it belongs to AIIMS New Delhi, not another institution.
- Confirm the patient's other details match the earlier record.
- Check whether the service is asking for UHID, ABHA or another identifier.
- Avoid creating repeated new records as a workaround.
The AIIMS UHID guide explains where the number is commonly found and why continuity matters.
Cancelling or rescheduling
Use only the options currently shown by the official service for that booking. Do not rely on a third-party article that publishes a universal cancellation number or deadline unless the current official source supports it.
When changing a booking, preserve the cancellation or new-confirmation acknowledgement and verify that the replacement appointment shows the intended department and date.
When no slot is available
A technical problem and unavailable capacity require different responses. If the site loads normally but no date is offered for the correct department, refreshing cannot manufacture capacity. Read the no-appointment-slots guide before calling unrelated numbers or paying an agent.
After resolving the booking problem
Read the final confirmation completely. Save it in two forms, identify the correct building, separate reporting/registration time from consultation time and prepare the existing UHID and relevant medical records.
Diagnose the stage, not just the error
The same message can have different consequences depending on whether the patient is selecting a hospital, verifying a mobile number, choosing a department, confirming a date, or retrieving an earlier booking. Note the last completed stage before trying again.
| Stage | Evidence that it completed |
|---|---|
| Patient verification | The official service accepts the mobile/identity route and proceeds |
| Hospital and department selection | The intended AIIMS institution and department remain selected |
| Date selection | The chosen date appears in the booking summary |
| Final confirmation | A confirmation, appointment record or slip is generated |
Do not assume that receiving an OTP means the appointment was booked. OTP verifies a step; the final confirmation proves the booking.
Before contacting official support
Write down the selected hospital, department, patient type, approximate time and exact error wording. Keep the confirmation or failed-page screenshot, but cover the mobile number, UHID, ABHA, appointment identifier and medical information before sharing it where the official channel permits.
Ask one precise question. “I selected AIIMS New Delhi and Orthopaedics as a new patient, but the page returned to hospital selection after OTP” is more actionable than “appointment not working.”
Avoid these troubleshooting mistakes
- requesting many OTPs in quick succession;
- switching between new and existing-patient routes without checking the UHID;
- opening unofficial links from advertisements or messages;
- creating duplicate bookings to test whether the first one succeeded;
- paying an agent who promises a guaranteed date; and
- publishing an appointment slip in a public comment.
Frequently asked questions
Can this website check my appointment status?
No. It does not connect to patient accounts or collect appointment IDs. Use the official service where the booking was made.
I received an SMS but cannot find a slip. Is the booking valid?
Compare the SMS with the official appointment record. A partial or verification message may not be the final confirmation.
Should I make another appointment after an error?
First check whether a booking record already exists. Duplicate appointments can create confusion and do not solve an account or identity mismatch.
