AIIMS Delhi Appointment Not Available: No Slots or Department Missing

Clear, independent guidance based on official hospital and government sources. Understand the process before entering patient details on an official service.

Updated September 2026

When ORS shows no appointment date, the most important question is whether the problem is availability, patient route, department selection or a technical failure. These situations look similar but do not have the same solution.

No third party can guarantee a hidden AIIMS appointment. AIIMS states that its telephone booking and ORS appointment route use the same pool.

First check the route

First-time patient

Confirm AIIMS New Delhi, the department and the new-patient selection. Some specialty services may require referral and may not behave like a general new-patient OPD.

Existing patient with UHID

Use the earlier AIIMS New Delhi identity where the official service offers an existing-patient route. A new-patient search may not represent the correct follow-up availability.

Follow-up patient

Read the return instruction. The patient may need a named clinic, unit, date or UHID-based pathway rather than a general new appointment.

What an empty date list can mean

  • the current online quota is full;
  • future dates have not been released in that route;
  • the department is not offering that appointment type online;
  • the service uses a different clinic or centre name;
  • a referral or earlier consultation is required;
  • the patient has selected the wrong institution or status; or
  • the official service is temporarily unavailable.

The portal alone may not explain which reason applies. Avoid presenting one assumed reason as fact.

Department missing from the list

Check whether the referral names a centre, division or specialty clinic. Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, for example, are different services. CNC, RP Centre and IRCH contain more specific departments or clinics.

Do not book an unrelated department to enter the hospital system. That can waste a scarce slot and may not lead to the intended service.

Should you call the appointment numbers?

The AIIMS telephone appointment service is an official alternative for its stated purpose. However, AIIMS says telephone and ORS appointments come from the same pool. Calling is not a method to unlock a slot that is unavailable in that pool.

Avoid false “slot opening time” claims

An observed time, old screenshot or social-media comment is not proof of a permanent hospital-wide release schedule. Department quotas and system behavior can change. This site will not publish an invented daily release time for traffic.

Safe next steps

  1. Recheck hospital, department and patient status.
  2. Review the referral or previous prescription for the exact service name.
  3. Check whether the department publishes a separate access instruction.
  4. Retry the official service later without excessive automated refreshing.
  5. Use the verified telephone booking service only for appointment booking.
  6. Do not pay an agent or share OTP/UHID for claimed priority access.

Emergency and routine OPD are different

A person who may require urgent medical attention should not wait for a future routine OPD slot. Use the appropriate emergency service. This website cannot assess urgency or provide medical triage.

A step-by-step retry checklist

  1. Confirm that AIIMS New Delhi—not another AIIMS institution—is selected.
  2. Recheck the department name against the referral, prescription or previous OPD record.
  3. Confirm whether the patient is new, already has a UHID, or is returning for follow-up.
  4. Look for a separate specialty clinic or centre named on the document.
  5. Retry the official service later without creating several patient identities.
  6. Use the official booking-support numbers when the route is correct but the problem continues.

Take a screenshot of the non-sensitive error message if official support needs the exact wording. Cover the UHID, mobile number, appointment identifier and any medical details before sharing it.

Do not confuse these three situations

What you seeLikely meaningUseful response
Department appears but every date is unavailableThe displayed allocation may be exhausted or not yet openRetry later and consider the official telephone booking channel
Department does not appearThat clinic may use another name, centre, referral or follow-up routeMatch the exact clinic name and read the department/referral guide
Existing patient cannot continueThe UHID, institution, patient details or selected route may not matchRecheck the old record; avoid starting a duplicate new-patient identity

If you must plan travel from outside Delhi

Do not book non-refundable travel merely because a department is listed on AIIMS or ORS. Wait for a usable appointment confirmation or a clear department instruction. Recheck the date, hospital, department and patient name before arranging the journey. A screenshot showing only the hospital-selection page is not an appointment.

Frequently asked questions

Does “no slots” mean AIIMS has stopped the OPD?

Not necessarily. It describes what the booking route currently displays, not the complete operational status of the department.

Is there a guaranteed time when new slots open?

This guide does not publish an unverified universal release time. Availability can differ by department and allocation.

Can a helpline create an extra slot?

Telephone booking can help a patient use the official process, but it cannot guarantee capacity beyond the appointment pool.

Should I pay an agent for a confirmed slot?

No unofficial person can safely guarantee an AIIMS appointment. Use only official services and payment instructions.
